What is the Chrono24 Escrow Service?
The Chrono24 Escrow Service offers both buyers and sellers more security when purchasing a watch. After the buyer has transferred the total amount to the escrow account, the money will be kept safe until the buyer has received the item and confirmed delivery.

We usually trigger payout to the seller within 7 business days of the delivery confirmation. The payment can also be released earlier if the buyer agrees.

Furthermore, using the Escrow Service allows us to offer you more support throughout the transaction process should something not go according to plan.
Which payment options can I offer buyers?
The buyer usually pays via the Escrow Service on Chrono24. That means they transfer the amount due to a secure escrow account. After that, you send the watch to the buyer. The purchase price is then paid out to you once the watch has arrived at its destination.

In certain instances, the Escrow Service may not be available in the buyer or seller's country. Should that be the case, the buyer will pay you directly. Let them know your preferred payment method such as bank transfer or PayPal. Chrono24 will then share your payment information with the buyer.

Of course, can you also hand deliver the item to the buyer. We recommend you choose a safe and monitored location, such as a jewelry store, if you want to meet in person. You can also take advantage of the Escrow Service when using this delivery method. Please take a look at our Security Notes.
When is the commission fee due?
If you use the Escrow Service, we retain the commission directly during the payout of the sales price.

If the buyer has made a direct payment, we will send you an invoice with the commission fee. Please pay the amount due within 14 days.
What security does the Escrow Service offer sellers?
We want to make sure your watch sales are secure! The Escrow Service protects you against attempted fraud and guarantees that the sales price will arrive in your account.

Once the buyer has received the item, they can trigger payout to you. Don't worry! We always try to release payment within 7 business days of delivery, even if the buyer hasn't reported back.

How do I safely send my watch?
Please make note of the following to ensure your watch will arrive securely at its destination:

  • Packaging: Choose a sturdy box in an appropriate size and fill it with sufficient packing material.
  • Recipient's address: Have the delivery address confirmed by the buyer. Make sure you write the complete, correct address legibly on the package or shipping document.
  • Insurance: Thoroughly research insurance options before shipping. Choose a shipping method that insures valuables and watches for their full value against damage or loss.
  • Tracking: Select a shipping method that comes with tracking. Send the buyer the shipment’s tracking number so they can track their package.
What assistance does Chrono24 offer if there are any problems?
If any problems arise, we are always ready to assist you and help bridge any language gaps between you and the buyer. All solutions have to be agreed upon by both parties. Should the buyer decide to return the item, we never send the buyer their refund without the seller's consent.
When will I receive my money back from Chrono24 after a canceled sale?
If you've already paid the commission fee, we will refund it once we've officially canceled your sale. We always initiate the refund within 7 days of the cancellation. Please note that it can take up to 3 business days for the money to arrive in your bank account.
