This is a beautiful Angelus Rectory vintage monopusher chronograph from approximately 1927. This watch is a significant and well-preserved example of one of the earliest chronograph wristwatches produced. It is powered by the first in-house chronograph movement manufactured by Angelus, calibre SF 15. This watch was Fully Serviced by ClockSavant. Rectory was a brand owned by Angelus. This watch was, in my opinion, ahead of its time. Its overall design foretold the future renaissance enjoyed by chronograph wristwatches. It features a beautifully aged original dial, fixed lugs, blued hands, and a breguet overcoil hairspring. The accuracy and amplitude performance of this watch after servicing is exceptionally strong. This watch was a pleasure to fully service-- it is robust, well maintained, and well designed. This is a very nicely sized larger watch at 38mm excluding the crown.
For more information on the history of Angelus I highly recommend a publication by Fratello Watches: Angelus - An Exceptional Swiss Watch Manufacture - A collector's guide Text: Christoph Ohm-Kuhnle. Photo research: Christian Pfeiffer-Belli and Christoph Ohm-Kuhnle.
